Christmas wine is a popular warm Christmas drink in Europe, made with red wine, citrus juices and some incredibly fragrant spices. It is sometimes referred to as “mulled wine”, or “Glühwein” in Germany.
Making this drink at home will fill your entire house with the sweet aroma of cinnamon, cloves and other christmas-y spices.

For a non-alcoholic version, simply replace the red wine with fruit juices of your liking to make a delicious spiced mocktail!
Ingredients (serves 4-5 people)
Water Red (1L) Wine (300ml) Orange juice (1 cup (3 fresh oranges)) Lemon juice (1/4 cup) Brown sugar (about 150g) Tea bag (black, red or flower tea) (1)
Cinnamon 肉桂 (2 big stalks) Star-anise 八角 (5 pieces) Cloves 丁香 (1/2 tea spoon) Ginger 姜 (4 slices)
Place water and all herbs and spices into a big pot /slow cooker and boil for 1 hour.
Add lemon juice, orange juice, sugar and the tea bag into the pot and boil for another 15 minutes
Add red wine and serve warm.
Non-alcoholic version: Replace red wine with your favourite fruit juice and add ice cubes.
